Back to work

At Golley Slater, we believe the most creative, effective campaigns come from original thinking.

Golley’s week that was #11

Our regular round-up of what’s been going on in the Golley Slater Cardiff office over the last seven days.

#1 We got our PR clients, Folly Farm, chatting about life at the zoo on BBC Radio Two

At the beginning of the year, BBC Radio Two started a new feature called ‘Great Job Wednesday’ which features a different person with a fabulous job, every week. We knew it would be perfect for our client, Tim, from Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo – and as it turns out, Chris Evans thought so too. Catch Tim talking conservation, meerkats and penguins on this week’s show by clicking here.

#2 We clapped for our most environmentally-conscious teammate

On Tuesday, our Content & Social Media Manager Jane was invited to Westminster to accept an award from the WWF, for the work she does on her blog, to encourage people to live a more sustainable lifestyle. Nice one, Jane!

#3 We got a little bit excited about the return of ‘Cardiff Blogs’

As an agency based in the beating heart of the city centre, we’ve really missed the regular meet-ups and community spirit of the Cardiff Blogs network since it all went quiet a couple of years ago. Understandably then, we were pleased to hear that a new schedule of events is being planned for 2017 – we’ll be keeping a keen eye on their Twitter account for more announcements.

#4 We looked back at our most memorable Ignite Cardiff talks

On March 8th, a special one-off Ignite Cardiff Deluxe will be held at the Wales Millennium Centre, and as usual, the team from Golley Slater will be there to support. To celebrate, we took a look back at some of our team’s favourite Ignite Cardiff talks from the last couple of years.

#5 Our PR team celebrated meeting their CPD deadline!

Every year, members of our PR team work towards gaining or maintaining accredited pR practitioner status, by logging their attendance and learning at an annual program of CIPR training events, seminars and workshops. After this year’s deadline, we now have 8 accredited PR practitioners in the Cardiff team, with a couple of members hoping to study for chartered status in 2017. Watch this space!
