Back to work

At Golley Slater, we believe the most creative, effective campaigns come from original thinking.

Golley’s week that was #14

Our regular round-up of what’s been going on in the Golley Slater Cardiff office over the last seven days.

#1 We held an animal themed bake-off on behalf of our client, Folly Farm

Jack is a Rhino Keeper at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, and in April, he’ll be running the London Marathon to raise funds for Save the Rhino. We decided to top up his fundraising efforts with an animal themed bake-off, won by Senior PR Account Executive Katie Dowling for her ‘Rumbling Rhino Red Velvet Cake’! In total we raised £110, which will be added to Jack’s running total which you can see here: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/rhinojack

#2 We attended the St David Awards at The Senedd

As sponsors of the St David Awards, two of the Golley Slater Cardiff team were lucky enough to be invited to the prestigious award-giving ceremony at The Senedd on Wednesday evening. The awards celebrate the exceptional things being done by ordinary people here in Wales and beyond, and being there to listen to some of the amazing achievements of our fellow Welsh men and women was a real privilege. You can read about all of the inspirational stories from the evening by clicking here.

#3 We put the finishing touches to a top secret new TV ad campaign

Senior members of our creative team have been busy in the studio mixing the sound and putting the finishing touches to an ad campaign for a top secret client. A couple of Golley Slater staff members even feature as extras in the ad – watch this space as all will be revealed in the next couple of weeks.

#4 We waxed a colleague’s legs – all in the name of charity

When our Media Account Manager Jake offered to be waxed for charity, we thought he was kidding. Turns out he wasn’t, and thanks to his bravery we managed to raise over £50 for Comic Relief during our lunch hour on Friday – and more than a few laughs when we saw Jake’s resulting patchy legs!
